Le jeudi 13 juin dernier, s' est tenu le lancement à Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the new African Debt Managers Initiative Network (ADMIN) program. This launch was made by the African Development Institute, a learning organization of the African Development Bank Group

The ADMIN program aims to provide local solutions to debt challenges in Africa. The launch of the program is accompanied by the first peer learning workshop. The theme of the occasion is “developing and deepening domestic debt markets in Africa”. The director of the African Development Institute, Eric Ogunleye, said that the growing financing needs for infrastructure development, poverty reduction, climate change mitigation and the fight against insecurity are pushing African countries to borrow more, further increasing their debt vulnerability. The meeting highlighted that the development of a domestic African debt market was identified as a way for the continent to develop cheaper and more stable sources of debt financing to meet its numerous development needs.
