The 2024 Aid Transparency Index was released on Wednesday., Publish What You Fund, the global campaign for aid and development transparency, considered that the sovereign portfolio of the African Development Bank (AfDB) is the most transparent of all of them.

The ADB portfolio is at the top among 50 global development institutions, with an unsurpassed score of 98.8. The Aid Transparency Index has been tracking the transparency of the largest international aid organizations for 12 years. The 2024 Index assesses six sovereign portfolios (from the public sector) and six non-sovereign portfolios (from the private sector) of development finance institutions (DFIs). Sovereign portfolios of development finance institutions occupy three of the top five places in the ranking, with ADB in the lead, followed by the Inter-American Development Bank in 2nd place and the International Association for the Development of World Bank
