Le vendredi 20 septembre dernier, s' est tenu by videoconference the 143rd ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) .Six new operations

have been approved.

The directors approved six (06) new transactions for a total amount of 105.638 billion CFA francs. The total financing to date (all operations combined) of BOAD, since the start of its operational activities in 1976, has now increased to 8,854.3 billion CFA francs. The loans that have been approved concern the partial financing of projects such as: “Short-term line for the partial refinancing of Simplified Cooperative Societies Producing Cotton (SCOOPS-PC) in the SOFITEX zone for the 2024-2025 cotton season in Burkina Faso”. In the amount of 10 billion FCFA. “Short-term loan in favor of the company Ivory Cocoa Product (ICP) SA for the 2024-2025 cocoa campaign in Côte d'Ivoire” of 15 billion FCFA. This project is classified as a “sustainable development driver”.

Worth 28.638 billion CFA francs, the third operation concerns the strengthening of the Fresco-Sassandra-San Pédro-Grand Béréby junction section of the coastal road in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. The project will create 2,650 direct and indirect jobs.

La quatrième opération d' un montant de 30 billion FCFA, concerns the extension of the Komsilga phase 4 power plant by the Société Nationale d'Electricity du Burkina (SONABEL) in Burkina Faso.

The rural electrification of one hundred seventy-two (172) localities by extending the medium and low voltage electrical distribution network in the Togolese Republic is the fifth of an amount of 6 billion CFA francs.

The last operation concerns the construction of a structural network for the public distribution of drinking water in the municipalities of Abobo and Yopougon in the autonomous district of Abidjan, in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
