Although the revenues collected increased by 33.3 billion FCFA compared to the 1,022.6 billion FCFA collected in 2023, they did not allow Customs to achieve its collection objective in 2024, i.e. a gap of 39 billion FCFA. According to the Directorate-General for Customs, this underperformance is justified by global geopolitical conflicts that have seriously disrupted maritime transport. The repeated attacks on ships in the Red Sea in particular, have led to costly diversions affecting the delivery of goods

Despite a difficult international context, for the second year in a row, the Directorate-General of Customs passed the 1,000 billion CFA mark in revenue. For 2025, it has a goal of collecting 1144 billion CFA francs in revenue.
