The dry port, whose specificities have not been revealed, will nevertheless be interconnected to a railway line that is also planned. This strategy is part of a global policy aimed at diversifying its sources of supply, while it is landlocked and the border standoff with Benin is forcing it to find viable logistical relays for its imports and exports. The dry port should ensure the coordination of logistics upstream and downstream (warehousing, groupage, packing, customs clearance, quality control) to facilitate shipments via Algerian port platforms
