The workshop planned for four days aims to improve the performance of fics and to strengthen the mobilization of tax revenues in West Africa. Tadat, a diagnostic assessment tool for tax administrations is at the heart of this high-level regional workshop. This meeting focuses on the development of post-TADAT action plans and tax administration reform strategies. It is intended to be a platform for capacity building, allowing the exchange of good practices and the definition of recommendations for the harmonization of tax reform strategies in West Africa.
According to Modeste Y. Somé, resident representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF ) in Benin, discussions have focused for three days on the institutionalization of the principle of periodic and systematic evaluation of tax administration systems in member countries, the training of tax administration officials in the Tadat tool and the acquisition of techniques for developing and managing a post-TADAT action plan. It is also a question of develop a matrix describing the main components of a typical tax administration reform strategy and indicators of regional convergence on reform-modernization
