Construction work on the Ferkessédougou photovoltaic power plant (Ferké Solar) was officially launched on Sunday, February 2, 2025 by PFO Africa.

PFO Africa is a company specialized in construction and public works designated “national champion” in Côte d'Ivoire. The Ferkessédougou photovoltaic power plant has a capacity of 52 MWp. The project is part of the Ivorian government's energy transition strategy, which aims to increase the share of renewable energies in the country's energy mix to 42% by 2030. This infrastructure is fully financed to the tune of 41 billion CFA francs by PFO Énergies, a subsidiary of the group, with the support of institutional partners such as the BOAD and the EAAIF fund

According to Minister Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly, “this project is 100% carried out by a national private investor and will contribute to enriching Côte d'Ivoire's share of renewable energy production, bringing us closer to our goal of 45% clean energy by 2030”. The commissioning of the power plant is scheduled for the end of 2025.
