According to Andrew Inglisa, President and CEO of Kosmos, “the first LNG is another important milestone for Kosmos, the GTA partnership, and the governments of Mauritania and Senegal. We look forward to the acceleration of LNG production and the first lifting of LNG cargoes in the first quarter.” The progress of the project towards the first exports stage is good news for the main operators, but also for Mauritania and Senegal, the two African countries that host the project. It should be noted that the GTA project indeed represents an important economic opportunity for these states, in particular because of the income it could allow them to generate in the form of export revenues and royalties.
