Le mercredi 12 février 2025 le President of Liberia Joseph Boakai has suspended for a period of one month without pay more than 450 civil servants who “did not declare their assets on time”.

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Agency (LACC) has singled out a total of 457 government officials, including the Deputy Budget Minister and ambassadors. They are accused of not declaring their assets before November as required by the code of conduct for civil servants in the country. The presidency of Liberia said they “have been suspended for a period of one month without pay or until they submit their declarations”. In fact, Liberian law requires all officials appointed by the government to declare their assets when they take office and then when they leave their post
