Vitel has been assigned a 0712 mobile number series. According to the company, this award marked an important step in the evolution of the telecommunications landscape in Nigeria. According to the information, mobile number series generally consist of a unique prefix that identifies the operator in a country's numbering system. According to the company, the emergence of Vitel as a fully licensed MVNO with its own number series underscores the country's growing openness to competitive and innovative telecommunications solutions aimed at improving service delivery and accessibility. According to the President and CEO of Vitel Wireless, Kenneth Nwabueze, the company's acquisition of its unique set of mobile numbers demonstrates NCC's confidence in its vision and its desire to serve the Nigerian market. According to the latter, “after successfully meeting all government regulatory requirements, Vitel Wireless is now ready for a smooth market entry and ready to launch innovative, affordable, and customer-focused services across Nigeria.”
