In order to finance a project to develop competitive aquaculture and fisheries value chains in Côte d'Ivoire, the Ivorian government has concluded a loan agreement of 24.634 million euros (16.158 billion CFA francs) with the African Development Bank (16.158 billion CFA francs) loan agreement with the African Development Bank ( BAD). The agreement, which was signed in December 2024, was ratified at a Council of Ministers on Wednesday in Abidjan by a decree issued by the government

The project to develop competitive aquaculture and fisheries value chains plans to support the management of maritime, lagoon and continental fisheries and the development of aquaculture by strengthening broodstock, setting up hatcheries, commercial production of fry and the formulation of fish food. The country's government has indicated that the project is expected to significantly increase the contribution of the fisheries and aquaculture sector to the development of local economies.
