Pour les trois trimestres ending on December 31, 2024, Airtel Nigeria's data revenue fell to $344 million. This marks a decrease from the $539 million recorded during the

same period last year.

This decision allows Airtel to align itself with its main competitors, such as MTN, which has also increased the prices of calls and data services. The company expects that this tariff adjustment will promote the recovery of revenues in the coming months

.

Dans une note partagée avec The PUNCH en janvier, le directeur général d' Airtel Nigeria, Dinesh Balsingh indicated that “the price increase, which was absolutely necessary for the survival and continued growth of the industry, will allow us to continue to invest in network infrastructure, expand coverage, and provide improved products and services that meet the evolving needs of our customers.” Airtel's financial performance was driven by strong demand for mobile data, with a 31.4% increase in average revenue per user. According to the report, “data revenue grew by 44.3% at a constant currency rate, thanks to solid growth in the number of data customers and ARPU, which grew by 8.2% and 31.4% respectively
