Le Sovereign Fund for Strategic Investments (FONSIS) and the Operational Office for Coordination and Monitoring of Projects and Programmes (BOCS) have signed a partnership agreement. The objective of the agreement between the two structures is to accelerate the implementation of structuring projects throughout Senegal

.

The objective of FONSIS and BOCS is to involve the private sector, to make the coordination of interventions more efficient but also to guarantee rigorous monitoring with the aim of maximizing the socio-economic impact of projects. According to a statement, “this strategic alliance reinforces the synergy between the two institutions to optimize the structuring, financing and execution of initiatives aligned with the priority sectors of Vision 2050

.”

FONSIS will contribute its expertise in financial structuring and fund mobilization, all with an emphasis on the involvement of the private sector. The role of the BOCS is to ensure rigorous monitoring, facilitate the obtaining of the necessary authorizations and the coordination of the actions of key institutional actors. According to the Director General of FONSIS, Babacar Gning, “FONSIS is a long-term investor that works alongside the private sector in strategic projects. This framework for collaboration with the BOCS will make it possible to strengthen the trust of our financial partners, through the establishment of an effective system capable of removing any obstacle impeding the execution of projects that transform Senegal

.”

Birome Holo BA, Director General of the BOC, for his part, indicated that “the mission of the BOCS is to ensure the effective implementation of the country's strategic projects and priority reforms. This collaboration with FONSIS will allow us to optimize the structuring of projects and to mobilize stakeholders more effectively to ensure their success
