Last January, Côte d'Ivoire and France signed a reciprocal agreement allowing holders of diplomatic passports valid for at least three months, whether Ivorian or French, to stay for a short period of time without the need for a visa.

The initiative reflects a common desire to facilitate the mobility of diplomatic and governmental actors. It simplifies the administrative procedures that are often restrictive. The abolition of visa requirements is part of strengthened cooperation between the two countries.
