Under the theme “sovereign debt of CEMAC states and restructuring opportunities”, this international conference is organized at the initiative of the stock exchange companies Contacturer Capital and Horus Investment Capital, as well as the legal, fiscal and financial engineering firm Akoa Mballa and Co. According to Paul Onono, director of Contacturer Capital SA, its objective is to “find innovative solutions that are adapted and calibrated to our economies”. This meeting also aims to promote local expertise and to create synergies for sharing experiences, both locally and internationally. According to Onono, the CEMAC countries have been heavily in debt since 2011 and that today, it is “important to reprofile this debt to breathe new life into our economies”. The participants in the conference will discuss several themes selected for this event. These include questions concerning the state of play of sovereign debt in CEMAC, the challenges posed by this debt, the structuring of a financing transaction applicable to sovereign debt, as well as the mechanisms for restructuring sovereign debt

in CEMAC.

noted that this event will bring together high-ranking figures in the field of finance in the subregion, including the Minister of Finance of Cameroon, the governor of the Bank of Central African States, the governor of the Bank of Central African States, the country representative of the African Development Bank (ADB), the country representative of the African Development Bank (ADB), officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as heads of institutions public and private banking and financial services.
