TotalEnergies and its partners inaugurated in Taiwan last week an installation of 80 wind turbines with a capacity of 8 megawatts (MW) each about fifteen kilometers from the west coast of the island.

The 80 wind turbines are expected to supply 600,000 Taiwanese homes with electricity. This is the second offshore park commissioned by the French giant, after that of Seagreen off the Scottish coast in 2023. According to Olivier Terneaud, director of offshore wind energy at TotalEnergies, “offshore wind energy is one of the elements of TotalEnergies' ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.” The group aims for a net electricity production of 50 terawatt hours (TWh) by 2025 and more than 100 TWh
