Un protocole d' accord ( MoU) was signed on Saturday 22 March 2025 between the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (FATF) and Mashreq Bank Egypt. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in the field of investment and promote Egypt's growing business opportunities.

The memorandum of understanding was by Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, and Amr El-Bahei, CEO of Mashreq Bank Egypt. Mashreq Bank Egypt, through this agreement, will present the growing business opportunities in Egypt to its Egyptian and international customers, highlighting the country's diversified economy, its strategic location, its vast consumer market and its major national projects launched over the last decade. In reality, the bank will be responsible for facilitating communication between GAFI and its clients interested in investing and developing in Egypt, as well as organizing meetings between FATF representatives and the bank's international clients interested in investing in

Egypt.

For its part, the FATF will provide Mashreq Bank Egypt with information on investment opportunities in Egypt, the sectors targeted according to the Egyptian government's plan, and updates on legislative and procedural developments in the investment environment. According to Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, “GAFI wants to cooperate with Mashreq Bank Egypt to attract new investors to the Egyptian market through its local and international network, which serves investors and individuals in the main global financial centers, in particular the United Arab Emirates, which is currently the leading investment country

in Egypt.”
