The new BEAC operation involves an amount of 230 billion CFA francs. It is accompanied by the payment of a minimum interest rate of 4.5%, corresponding to the new minimum interest rate for tenders (TIAO) decided at the end of the Monetary Policy Committee (CPM) held on 24 March last in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. This is the first time in two years that the BEAC has applied a revised TIAO downwards. The objective was then to tighten access to bank loans to fight inflation
