).Quickpay SA hopes to expand to new markets within the UEMOA other than Senegal. Through the new license, it will now be able to offer mobile financial services within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA ) without the need for partner banks, as was the case in the past. The company said in a statement that “this approval reinforces our position as a key player in financial inclusion and allows us to better meet the needs of our users, by offering them adapted financial services. This thus contributes to the financial inclusion of unbanked populations, thus contributing to the financial inclusion of unbanked populations, significantly supporting the economic development of the African continent, and more particularly from Senegal”.
Quickpay thus joins a restricted circle of players capable of issuing and managing electronic money independently, alongside Wave, and Orange Finance Mobile, which dominate the market in Senegal
