In collaboration with the African Development Bank Group, the Islamic Development Bank Group, the Islamic Development Bank Group, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Africa Growing Together Fund, the Federal Government of Nigeria plans to launch phase 1 of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ). The ceremony will take place on 8 April 2025 in Kaduna State

Le lancement officiel de la phase 1 des Zones spéciales de transformation agro-industrielle will mark the start of the construction of SAPZ infrastructure in the states of Kaduna, Kano, Kwara, Cross River, Imo, Ogun, Oyo and the Féd& Capital Territory oral (FCT). This launch will also give impetus to Phase 2, where up to 28 additional states could join the program. This first phase is the largest SAPZ program of the African Development Bank in an African country. It was financed to the tune of 538 million dollars

Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Minister for Coordination of economy , Abubakar Kyari, ministre de l' Agriculture et de la Sécurité alimentaire, les gouverneurs des États de Kaduna et de Cross River, ainsi que de hauts représentants de la Banque islamique de développement, du International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and ARISE IIZ, depending on the event.

Private partners, including Africa Rise Integrated Industrial Zones (ARISE IIZ), will pilot the design, construction, and operation of the areas, establishing a sustainable growth model.

The events will also be enriched by discussions that will highlight the potential of agriculture to transform Nigeria into a global leader in agribusiness and demonstrate how the SAPZ model can take advantage of co-financing and private sector expertise to mobilize resources.

Un second event is scheduled for April 10, 2025 in Cross River State.
