On Monday, May 12, 2025, the work of the dialogue mission on the Interim Country Strategy Paper (DSPi) 2022—2025 of Burkina Faso and the African Development Bank (AfDB) took place in Ouagadougou.

The AfDB and Burkina Faso discussed yesterday the implementation of the DSPi, which will end at the end of 2025, examined achievements and identified challenges and prospects for consolidating their cooperation. According to the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubakar Nacanabo, on a forecast of 484.2 million Units of Accounts (UA), or about 400 billion CFA francs, the DSP-i 2022—2025 was able to mobilize more than 500 million UA, or about 417 billion CFA francs. This amount is intended for the implementation of 15 projects at the national level and in such varied fields as rural development, infrastructure, energy, water supply and sanitation, education, health and governance, etc. The dialogue and review mission also allowed actors to discuss the state of cooperation between the two parties and to identify government priorities.

According to the AfDB's Vice President for Regional Development, Integration and Service Delivery, Nwabufo Nnenna, since the start of its operations in Burkina Faso in 1970, until the end of April 2025, until the end of April 2025, the ADB approved 115 projects, in the form of loans and grants, for a cumulative amount ; of 1.8 billion USD, or about 1200 billion CFA francs. For the latter, the bank's project portfolio in Burkina Faso is diversified and the volume of commitment is a perfect illustration of the solid partnership ties that have been forged between Burkina and the AfDB, in more than five decades of cooperation
