The program launched in Abuja, Nigeria, aims to train the next generation of innovators by providing skills and resources to pursue careers in STEM fields. The initiative, which covers Nigeria, Angola, Namibia, and Mozambique, includes weekly quizzes, regional competitions, and innovation camps designed to improve critical thinking and collaboration. According to the executive director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, Ugonna Achebe, “the students who participated in this program last year are no longer participating. This is a brand new promotion because our aim is to reach as many students as possible and to give them the skills they need to become conscientious business leaders and digitally savvy young people.” According to him, the objective is to equip young people with the tools they need to become digitally savvy leaders. The aim will be to ensure that students improve their critical thinking and collaborative skills, “because at the end of the day, it is what we give them that will enable them to have the capacity and growth they need to make an impact in our nations.”
Pour sa part, le directeur général des filiales d'ExxonMobil in Nigeria, Shane Harris, indicated that “the The program has also significantly narrowed the knowledge gap between participating students on STEM subjects, especially in Nigeria, where students recorded a 212% improvement in their STEM knowledge test scores.”
