Il s' est tenu du 16 au 20 juin 2025, un atelier de formation sur le processing of data from the Non-standard units component of the Harmonized Survey on Household Living Conditions.

The training workshop on data processing from the Non-Standard Units (Nsu) component of the Harmonized Household Living Conditions Survey (Ehcvm) was held as part of the implementation of the Project to Harmonize and Improve Statistics in Africa from the West and from the Center. This multi-actor meeting mobilized experts and actors from the National Statistical Institutes of the countries Uemoa of and CEMAC. The workshop was held as part of the implementation of the Project for Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West and Central Africa. It is organized jointly by the Commissions of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (Uemoa ) and the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) in collaboration with the World Bank.

The meeting will, among other things, make it possible to agree on harmonized procedures for processing survey data at the regional level and to apply them to the Nsu data collected as part of the third edition of the Ehcvm.

Data collection on Nsu aims to identify the units used by populations in their market transactions (tines, bowls, boxes, dishes, heaps) and to know their equivalence in standard units (kilogram, gram, liter, centiliter) and to know their equivalence in standard units (kilogram, gram, gram, liter, centiliter). This makes it possible to build conversion factors to be used during work to measure the consumption of products in conventional units by populations.

Uemoa and CEMAC decided to join hands in conducting the Harmonized Survey on Household Living Conditions by jointly organizing the related regional workshops. This strategy aims to create a dynamic of reinforced integration and harmonization of statistics between the two areas.
