Morocco and Turkey signed, on Friday in Istanbul, on the sidelines of the Global Forum on Transport Connectivity, two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) relating to road safety and maritime corridors.

These two MoUs were signed by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, who is leading a high-level delegation to this international forum, and his Turkish counterpart, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, and his Turkish counterpart, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, in the presence of the Moroccan Ambassador to Turkey, Mohamed Ali Lazrak.

In a statement to MAP, Mr. Kayouh, who emphasized the importance of these agreements, specified that the first relates to the various aspects of technological cooperation in road safety, adding that Morocco is particularly interested in the Turkish experience in securing the road freight transport.

The second MoU, continued the minister, is part of the study launched by his Department to strengthen the national maritime fleet, in accordance with the speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March. In this respect, Mr. Kayouh highlighted the significant experience accumulated by Turkey in the field of maritime navigation and shipbuilding
