It is a multi-media life insurance policy that is aimed at all insurables, both in the formal and informal sectors, individuals and legal entities. It offers an opportunity for savers to grow their savings by benefiting from additional gains from the financial markets. In an interview he gave to Togo-Presse, the company's CEO, Mr. Claude Daté Gbikpi, reassures of the security and security guarantees offered by conventional life insurance products to which is added a profitability offered by mutual funds (FCP). Always present alongside its customers, GTAC2A-Vie is already in Kara where it participates in the Evala festival in Kabyè country. M.
Gbikpi takes the opportunity of these festivities to urge all those who are not yet with GTAC2A-Life to join the company in this beautiful win-win adventure that is "Croesus".
Question: Mr. Ceo, can you briefly introduce us to the company GTAC2A-Vie that you have been managing for more than fifteen years?
Answer: Thank you to Togo-Presse for this opportunity.
GTAC2A-Vie is a limited company specialized in personal insurance with a share capital of 1 billion CFA francs created in 2001. It is run by men and women who are life insurance specialists and whose experience, professionalism and availability are proven. It is very strongly oriented towards customer satisfaction and innovation. GTAC2A-Vie is the leader of the insurance market in Togo (life and non-life), with a turnover of 9,000,000,000 FCFA in 2015.
Question: Mr. CEO, your company launched on March 16, 2016 a new product called Crésus; What is Croesus? What does it consist of?
Answer: Crésus is a multi-media life insurance policy designed by GTAC2A-Vie, in partnership with asset management companies. It is an innovative product marketed for the first time in Togo and will contribute to a better penetration of life insurance on our market and ensure subscribers a better profitability.
We speak of multi-media contract because the premium received by GTAC2A-Vie is invested on two media: 30% of the premium is directed to the guaranteed fund that we call a free fund managed by GTAC2A-Life remunerated at 3.5% (classic contract), and 70% invested in mutual funds (FCP) or units of account.
Question: We are familiar with traditional savings products, but what are Mutual Funds?
Answer: Mutual funds are part of the category of UCITS (Undertaking for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities).
A mutual fund (MUTUAL fund) is a combination of several financial securities (stocks, bonds, other financial products), all grouped into one. These are funds in which investors (savers) pool their money. These funds are entrusted to a professional manager (Asset Management). The interests from the various investments are shared among the investors of the FCP. Subscriptions to the fund are made daily at a value commonly referred to as net asset value. Subscribing to an FCP entitles you to a number of units, depending on the price of the share and the amount of the subscription.
Question: What added value do you bring to your customers through Crésus?
Answer: The partnership with the professionals of asset management companies (the Assets) has led us to create a product with the security and safety guarantees offered by all conventional life insurance products, to which is added a higher profitability offered by mutual funds. Thus, with Crésus, our clients will subscribe to a life insurance product, but their investment will now be the subject of a more profitable financial investment.
Question: What are the profitability prospects offered by Mutual Funds (MUTUAL Funds)
Answer: It should be noted that mutual funds offer a profitability that today varies between 6% and 14%. The investment policy that we offer our clients is to seize the best opportunities on the financial market and allow them to choose themselves according to their profile, the funds on which they want to invest. In addition, Crésus allows a good compromise between security and profitability and is more efficient than all other life insurance products.
Question: What do you mean by investor profile?
Answer: The investor profile does not only determine the kind of financial assets an individual should buy.
The profile also allows any investor to build their portfolio; it is a question of risk sensitivity.
Thus there are three investor profiles which are: the prudent profile, the balanced profile and the dynamic profile.
PRUDENT PROFILE
* The investor is looking for a capital valuation in the short term or
medium term with a low level of risk.
* The portfolio contains only monetary assets and bondholders.
BALANCED PROFILE
* The investor is looking for a valuation of the capital in medium or long
term with a medium level of risk.
* The portfolio is balanced. It contains monetary assets,
bonds and shares but predominantly bond-oriented either in the
minus 60%.
DYNAMIC PROFILE
* The investor is looking for a long-term capital valuation
with a very high level of risk.
* The portfolio is invested mainly in equities. On average
75% equities and 25% for other financial assets.
Question: Chief Executive Officer, investors are looking for safe and profitable investments. The insurer guarantees an interest rate of 3.5% on conventional contracts. At the level of the Mutual Fund is there a guaranteed minimum rate?
Answer: Although there is no guaranteed interest rate, when investing in mutual funds, Croesus remains a life insurance policy with 30% of premiums invested in guaranteed funds. It is therefore the part of the premium (70%) invested on mutual funds that could be subject to fluctuation eventually. However, the strategic portfolio allocation, diversification rules and portfolio tracking mechanism allow us to reduce the risk of loss of capital that clients may experience. In addition to this recognized expertise, the Crésus contract includes a "floor" guarantee mechanism that offers security to the insured. The "floor" guarantee offered by Crésus allows the insured who wants to leave after six years, to recover at least the level of the premium actually invested on the FCP, even if the market is falling.
Question: What can you say to reassure clients about the security of their investment and the profitability that is the major element of the CRESUS contract given that we have already seen insurance companies that have not kept their promises?
Answer: The activities of insurance companies and asset management companies are highly regulated. Crésus is an insurance contract designed by GTAC2A-Vie, which operates in strict compliance with the provisions of the CIMA Code, which constitutes a first level of security. Crésus is backed by Mutual Funds managed by SGO (UCITS Management Company or Asset) closely supervised by the CREPMF (Regional Council for Public Savings and Financial Markets). This is the second level of Control.
The third level of security relates to the controls carried out by:
* The auditors who certify the portfolio of the funds as well as the financial statements of the companies;* The depositary who controls the regularity of the decisions taken by the management company and the prudential ratios;* The Supervisory Board, body set up by the subscribers of the funds which assesses each year the management carried out by the management companies.
In short, the activity of Insurance and SGO remains "highly" regulated and supervised by the supervisory authorities CIMA and CREPMF ; investors can rest easy.
Question: Do you think that the creation of such a product can contribute to the development of the financial market and the popularization of stock market culture?
Answer: The stock market is not really known in our country, yet since its creation in 1998, there has been satisfactory profitability.
Given that subscribing to the Crésus contract allows policyholders to access the financial market via mutual funds and benefit from its profitability, it is obvious that this insurance product will participate in the popularization of the stock market culture and therefore in the promotion of the regional financial market.
Question: By subscribing to Crésus, will the client choose the funds on which he will invest himself? How will this happen in a practical way?
Answer: When subscribing to a multi-media or unit-linked contract such as Crésus, it is the client who selects his securities according to his risk aversion (profile) as we said at the beginning of this interview. However, in an environment where the stock market culture remains underdeveloped, we are at the disposal of our clients to guide them on the basis of the reliable information received from THE SGOs, relating to the level of performance of the MUTUAL Funds.
Question: What is the target of this product? Is this product only for individuals?
Answer: It is a product that is intended for all insurables in both the formal and informal sectors, individuals as well as legal entities. The minimum monthly premium is 30,000 FCFA with an option of free and periodic payments.
By subscribing to the Crésus product, policyholders benefit from:
* a wide and diversified financial offer* management options to optimize the monitoring of their savings.* a multitude of services to make their lives easier,* an attractive tax framework.* a rigorous selection of high-performance Mutual Funds* the guarantee offered by the classic retirement fund.
The icing on the cake is that with the "floor" guarantee that we grant on this contract, the insured always finds the entire premium or contribution invested regardless of the fluctuations of the financial market, in the event of a fall in market prices.
Question: Can we have a simulation to touch what a customer earns as part of this product?
Answer: Of course, as an example:

Question: Finally, Mr. Managing Director, what are your objectives in terms of Turnover for a 1st year of Marketing of Croesus on the Togolese Market?
Answer: We are very ambitious for this new product that fills a real market need. I therefore appeal to all those who are still hesitating and who are looking to optimize the little they put aside in order to easily carry out certain projects or possibly to ensure a peaceful retirement; it is at the request of the insured and insurable that this product was created.
Question: Mr. Director General, what is your final word?
Answer: I would like to thank the insureds who have always trusted us and who have allowed GTAC2A-Vie to be today in the first place of insurance companies in Togo.
I ask those who are not yet with us to join us for the beautiful "win-win" adventure.
Our main objective is to safely optimize the profitability of policyholders' savings, popularize the stock market culture and contribute to improving the penetration rate of life insurance in our country.
Thank you.
