The first special session on economic and financial crimes opened on Monday, July 1, by the Assize Court in Bamako in ^Mali.

The General Counsel at the Bamako Court of Appeal Bourama Kariba Konaté, indicated that “the Bamako Assize Court is opening a special session on economic crimes. For two months, 181 defendants will appear in numerous cases that will follow one another at the premises of the Bamako Court of Appeal.” According to the latter, “the has, in its role, about fifty files indicting more than a hundred defendants (181 in total for 15 women, 18 prisoners including one woman), most of whom were not available, i.e. appeared not detained. Infringement of public property, forgery and use of forgeries, money laundering, forgery and breach of trust are the offenses that relate to the cases mentioned above.” According to Bourama Kariba Konaté, this first special session “is distinguished from other ordinary sessions by the importance of certain files
