Le National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) is asking certain institutions in Guinea to limit their operations to the strict minimum.”

Le FNDC demande au FMI, à la Bank global, at the BAD, at the Islamic Bank, to USAID, to the European Commission, to the European Commission, to the European Council and to the United Nations to limit their operations in vital sectors (health and education) and to avoid engaging in any financial support that could allow the military who have seized power. La décision du FNDC was motivated by the “serious violations of human rights, the continued restriction of public freedoms in Conakry, the illicit enrichment and the embezzlement of public funds” perpetrated in Guinea by the CNRD military junta since coming to power on September 5, 2021

.

The FNDC indicated in a letter published on Friday, September 27, 2024 that “Guinean civil society, represented by the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC) invites you: to limit all your operations in Guinea to the strict minimum , in particular to vital projects in the health and education sectors; to strengthen the control and monitoring of all projects, taking into account the control and surveillance challenges posed by the continuing lack of freedom of expression (...); to avoid engaging in all kinds of financial support that could allow soldiers who have forcibly confiscated power to buy new weapons to suppress civilian populations (...); to raise the related concerns with the Guinean government aux graves violations de droits humains en République de Guinée .”
