Barroco.AfDB financing for Niger will be spread over four major programs in 2025. Approximately USD 284.96 million (UA 214 million) will be spent on improving basic services. They will be used to improve access to basic services such as education, health, agriculture, water and sanitation. The objective is to improve the living conditions of populations, especially in rural areas. The strengthening of the supply of drinking water will benefit from 119.84 million USD (90 million UA). This will allow the cities of Zinder and Mirriah, as well as the surrounding villages, to benefit from a major project to improve their drinking water supply systems. Funding of approximately USD 93.21 million (UA 70 million) will be provided for the promotion of agripreneurship. The initiative will launch a program dedicated to agricultural entrepreneurship to support young people and develop the agricultural sector, which is essential to the Nigerian economy. Niger will also benefit from funding of USD 13.31 million (UA 10 million) for disaster risk management. This will make it possible to strengthen Niger's resilience in the face of these events.
