The workshop was organized by the inter-professional organization of the fishing industry in Côte d'Ivoire (Inter-Pêche) in collaboration with the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources
.The Strategic Development Plan is developed to optimize production and strengthen competitiveness. It aims to strengthen the fishing industry while integrating sustainable practices, in accordance with the requirements of ordinance 2011-473. This strategic plan promises to lay the foundations for a structured industry that can ensure food security and contribute more to the national economy. According to the technical advisor at the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Colonel Kodjo Alain, this plan is an “essential piece” for the official recognition of the sector. The investments required for the implementation of this PSD are estimated at 40 billion CFA francs, a budget that should cover the infrastructure, equipment and training essential to the development of the sector
.It should be noted that the fishing industry plays a crucial role in the Ivorian economy, generating jobs and meeting the food needs of the population. The 2025-2030 PSD aims to strengthen the structure of the sector, improve production chains and comply with sustainability and quality standards
