The agreement signed between the two parties will support two programs such as the Formal Triennial Program (FEC) worth $1.77 billion and the climate program supported by the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (FRD) of $1.1 billion, which the DRC will receive over the next three years. The IMF said that the FEC aims to foster strong and inclusive growth, accelerate economic diversification, boost job creation, improve living standards, strengthen governance and transparency, and reduce poverty, through increased quality investments in infrastructure and social priority sectors. For its part, FRD aims to help the DRC achieve its strategic vision of “solution country” in the transition to a low-carbon global economy, while strengthening its resilience to climate shocks
