Nigerian Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine announced that the government of Niger plans to build a 275 km road from the east of the country to open up areas along the oil corridor.

The road, budgeted at 220 billion FCFA (about 353 million USD) according to information, will connect N'guigmi to Django, via Koulélé. If the project were to succeed, it would be part of the new policies announced by the Nigerien authorities to allow a better redistribution of revenues from oil and mining resources to the areas where they are located, in order to stimulate local economies and reduce social disparities. According to the World Bank, these infrastructures will help Niger to develop an integrated value chain to take full advantage of its oil industry, which is a catalyst for growth for the economy.
