Le Board of Directors of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) held its last meeting counting for the financial year 2024 on Wednesday December 18. Several points have been dissected.

During the meeting in Lomé, the BOAD Board of Directors first approved the minutes of the 143rd meeting, held on September 20, 2024 in Lomé (Togo) by videoconference. The Council also approved the interim accounts as at 30 September 2024, approved the Updated Financial Perspectives 2025-2029 and then the draft 2025-2027 programme budget of the BOAD. Also, a favorable opinion was given on the state of recovery of claims on loans from the institution as at 30 November 2024, the proposal to create a Corporate Foundation by BOAD and the results of the call for tenders for the selection of the Bank's Audit Office for the financial years 2025 to 2027 inclusive

During the consultations, the directors also approved nine new transactions for a total amount of 171.363 billion CFA francs. The loans approved concern the partial financing of projects such as the Participation of BOAD in the increase of the capital of BOAD SECURITIZATION in Togo, the Participation of BOAD in the share capital of BOAD Market Solutions, in Côte d'Ivoire; Participation of BOAD in the increase of the capital of Air Côte d'Ivoire; Participation of BOAD in the increase of the capital of Air Côte d'Ivoire; Emergency project to replenish the stock of food security and to strengthen the processing of local rice in Niger.

Also, there are projects such as: Operation to develop irrigated areas and lowlands for agricultural production in Burkina Faso; Construction and operation of an integrated animal feed production unit by the company EHUA Industries SA, in the industrial zone of Glo-Djigbé, in Benin; Extension of the network and of the unified video-projection platform of the city of Dakar and its suburbs, in the Republic of Senegal; Partial financing of the operating needs of the Société Nationale Burkinabé d'Hydrocarbures (SONABHY) in respect of the import and marketing of hydrocarbons in Burkina Faso; Partial financing of the operating needs of the Société Nationale Burkinabé d'Hydrocarbures (SONABHY) for the import and marketing of hydrocarbons in Burkina Faso; Partial financing of the operating needs of the Société Nationale Burkinabé d'Hydrocarbures (SONABHY) in respect of the import and marketing of hydrocarbons in Burkina Faso; Partial financing of the operating needs of the Société Nationale eacute; Nationale Burkinabé d'Hydrocarbures (SONABHY) for the import and marketing of hydrocarbons in Burkina Faso; Construction of 4,300 social and economic housing in Côte d'Ivoire — Phase 2 of 1,200 homes in Abidjan PK24, in Côte d'Ivoire; Reorganization of the conditions of the BOAD loan for the partial financing of the project to renovate and extend Azalai Hotel Independance in Ouagadougou by the Société Burkinabé de Protection Hôtelière (SBPH SA
