Last Thursday, the Minister of Economy and Finance signed a budget support agreement with the European Union's Commissioner for International Partnerships. This support is intended to finance the program entitled “For a global and solid partnership with Mauritania”.

The agreement signed between Sid'Ahmed Ould Bouh and Joseph Sekela is a donation to support integrated, sustainable and inclusive development while strengthening social cohesion and stability. It is worth 100 million euros, or the equivalent of 4.164 billion new ouguiyas. According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, the European Union remains one of Mauritania's main development partners. He also highlighted the constant evolution of bilateral cooperation, which includes not only economic development and political dialogue, but also a fisheries trade agreement. According to the minister, this convention, dedicated to integrated, sustainable and inclusive development, as well as to the strengthening of social cohesion and stability, focuses on green economic growth, the expansion of health coverage and the proactive management of migration-related challenges.
