The FEC agreement paves the way for an immediate disbursement of approximately $58.7 million in budget support and provides for total funding of $390 million. The agreement aims to help the Togolese authorities deal with the consequences of the multiple shocks recorded since 2020, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in global food and fuel prices. The program supported by the FMI revolves around two main objectives. The aim will be to make growth more inclusive while strengthening debt sustainability and implementing structural reforms to support economic growth and limit financial risks, especially in the banking sector.
