Des accords de partenariat ont été signé jeudi entre le Priority Investment Guarantee Fund (FONGIP) and the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) in Dakar.

Several objectives support the signing of partnership agreements between FONGIP and BNDE. These are the financing of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises (SMEs) and the marketing campaign for peanut seeds. Thus, a framework agreement and a memorandum of understanding relating respectively to financing of 5 billion and 10 billion CFA francs were signed by the two public bodies. According to the Director General of BNDE, Mamadou Faye, “these agreements mark a decisive step in our common commitment to support our SMEs and PMIs (small and medium-sized industries), agriculture, and the peanut marketing year in particular, in 2024 and 2025”. The latter considers that the support of the BNDE and FONGIP to SMEs involved in agriculture is necessary, because agricultural activity is “a source of income for millions of our citizens and an essential lever for food sovereignty, job creation and sustainable development”. Based on the agreements signed, a guarantee fund will be set up to finance the 2024-2025 agricultural season, for the benefit of agricultural economic operators

.

For her part, Ndèye Fatou Mbodj, the General Administrator of FONGIP indicated that FONGIP will contribute, through this partnership, “to the implementation of the measures adopted during the interministerial councils devoted to the agricultural season [...], on May 3 and November 26, 2024”.
