Access Bank Plc said it has obtained regulatory approvals from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Securities and Exchange Commission for the rights offering, a move that will strengthen its capital above a new regulatory threshold of $322.8 million (500 billion naira). The funds raised will help the bank, owned by Access Holdings Plc, double its share of assets outside its home market by 2027 and accelerate its entry into new markets such as Morocco, Egypt and the United States.
