The China Eastern Airlines group will inaugurate on January 19, via its subsidiary Shanghai Airlines, an air link between Shanghai and Casablanca, report Chinese media.

The first flight, departing from Shanghai, will strengthen air links between the two countries as of January 19. For its part, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced the resumption, as of January 20, of its direct flight from Beijing to Casablanca, a service suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019. RAM flights will be operated at a rate of three weekly frequencies, by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 in business class. China Eastern Airlines, based at Shanghai Airport, targets mainly tourists and businessmen from both countries.

This link will be provided at the rate of three frequencies per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Before this airline, which is one of the three largest air carriers in China, Shanghai Airlines announced the launch, starting on January 19, 2025, of a new direct line connecting the city of Shanghai, in eastern China, to Casablanca.
