The Ivorian government is multiplying initiatives to stimulate local meat and fish production in order to face the challenges of food security in the country.

Concrete projects are being implemented in several regions of Côte d'Ivoire. These projects offer new perspectives to rural populations. Indeed, as part of the “one woman 1 rooster - 10 hens” project, 500 women from the regions of Marahoué, Bagoué and Poro were trained in poultry farming techniques. These women received chickens, incubators, food, and shelters for their poultry.

Cette initiative vise to improve self-sufficiency in poultry products and to generate income for the beneficiaries.

In addition to poultry farming, fish farming is also at the heart of government strategies to strengthen fishery production. To this end, 11 young people were trained in fish farming techniques and benefited from equipped and stocked ponds. These ponds have an average production capacity of 30 tons of fish

per year.
