The International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced in a note the appointment of a new regional director for West Africa. It will cover 13 countries in the region in its new function and will reside in Dakar, Senegal.

Olivier Buyoya's mission is to lead IFC's strategy and activities to support private sector development and the creation of opportunities. Mission will be accomplished with the collaboration of the World Bank, development partners, public and private sector actors. Its objective during this mission is to contribute to strengthening programs that invest, create jobs and grow, but which also faces a number of challenges, including inflation, food insecurity and climate change.
