A ceremony was organized by the Raxio Group (“Raxio”), one of the main pan-African data center developers and operators. This ceremony marked the start of the construction of the fifth (and the first in Côte d'Ivoire) Tier III co-location neutral data center located in the heart of the Innovation and Technology Village (VITIB) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The construction ceremony of the fifth data center marked the first stage of a construction that will take place in several phases. The aim of this ceremony is to formalize the commissioning of the data center by the second half of 2023. Indeed, the technical characteristics of the future installation and its impact on the economic development of the country and the sub-region were highlighted by Raxio representatives during the event.

This installation also marks the Group's expected entry into West Africa, the regional center of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Raxio Côte d'Ivoire is strategically located at the heart of this economic block, which also benefits from a regulatory environment allowing the storage and circulation of data between banks and other financial institutions in the country.

According to Robert Mullins, CEO of the Raxio Group, the data center played an important role.
