European stock markets are expected to open sharply on Friday, as American index futures and Asian stock exchanges fall after Israel's strikes on Iran last night by Israel against Iran, which also caused oil prices to surge.

The stock exchange operator Euronext announced on Thursday a recomposition of the SBF 120 index, with the return of the satellite operator Eutelsat and the cloud computing service provider OVHcloud. On the other hand, the boat manufacturer Bénéteau and the hydrocarbon exploration and production group Maurel & Prom will leave the SBF 120, Euronext said during its quarterly review of the indices

.

These changes will be effective as of the June 23 session.

For its part, the composition of the CAC 40 index remains unchanged.

On Friday, Atos convened its shareholders for a general meeting.

At around 7:40 a.m., the CAC 40 futures contract fell by 1.6%, according to data from broker IG.

Futures on European and American equity markets fell sharply on Friday, after Israel's large-scale attack on nuclear facilities and military sites in Iran. These strikes killed the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and hit dozens of targets, in an operation that plunges the region into a new conflict with uncertain consequences

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, confirmed that a military operation against Iran had begun and that it would last “as many days as necessary.”

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Iran should “expect severe punishment” for these attacks.

According to the IDF spokesperson, quoted by AFP, the Israeli forces are trying on Friday morning to “intercept” a hundred drones launched by Iran.

Israel's strikes came after Iran announced on Thursday that the country will soon open a third uranium enrichment site, a major escalation after the International Atomic Energy Agency established for the first time in two decades that Tehran had failed to comply with its non-proliferation obligations

.

Oil prices soar after Israel attacked Iran. The worsening conflict in the Middle East is increasing the risk not only of disruptions in oil supplies to the main producing countries, but also of contagion in neighboring oil-producing countries, says Priyanka Sachdeva, of the Phillip Nova brokerage house
