The second partnership agreement between Afriland First Bank Cameroon and Proparco was announced on Wednesday 10 July last. The first guarantee agreement of 15 million euros was concluded in 2022 between the two institutions to increase the capacity of Afriland First Bank Cameroon to finance international trade

The conclusion of the second agreement allows Proparco to strengthen its support for the Cameroonian commercial bank, Afriland First Bank. This guarantee agreement, worth 20 million euros ($21.6 million), will allow Cameroon's leading bank in terms of loans and deposits (at the end of 2023), to increase its capacity to finance international trade. The import companies that are its customers will thus be able to benefit from new sources of financing their activities

The first agreement was to allow the Cameroonian commercial bank to issue international trade financing instruments, in order to support imports from its customers.
